The Westing Shiraz
Wine
Seppeltsfield The Westing Shiraz draws from the winery's V Block on the Barossa's western boundary. Its vines are a stark contrast against nearby fields of canola, wheat and barley.
All the fruit is selected from this single site, grown on red brown earth over alkaline subsoils. It is typically one of the earliest ripening Shiraz vineyards at Seppeltsfield.
The wine is vinified in Seppeltsfield's historic 1888 Gravity Cellars, built into a hillside on a series of terraces. Gravity guides the fruit down through the winery, gently extracting colour, flavour and tannin.
Fermentation takes place in carefully monitored open fermenters. The wine then matures in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads.
Vibrant ruby red, Seppeltsfield The Westing Shiraz's concentrated dark fruit flavours and robust tannins are focused by buoyant acidity. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
